MAAS handle shipments and cargo at ports and harbours worldwide on behalf of shipping companies. We serve as port agents, liner agents and own agencies, rendering services depending on shipping company. As shipping agent we ensure to follow certain responsibilities:
- Ensure berth for incoming ship
- Arranging tugs if necessary
- Handling documents for customs and harbour services
- Assisting master to contact local and harbour authorities
- Arranging necessary repairs
- Conveying instructions to and from the ship owner
- Organizing supply, transport and handling of goods
- Collecting freights, cargoes
- Contacting shippers and the receivers of the goods
In case of damage to cargo or the ship, we makes necessary arrangements at the request of ship’s master or owner with the insurance company and for nautical inspections and the services of experts or surveyors etc.
